Let me show you how cool is to analyze live data with Snowflake and ThoughtSpot.
Last year, ThoughtSpot released a video with a cool demo, especially made for fantasy football players. They loaded NFL data into ThoughtSpot and they showed how easy is to get insights and visualizations through their search bar without having to write SQL. This year, they improved this demo by moving the data out of ThoughtSpot and into Snowflake. With this, they’re showing us how to make the live data that you have in Snowflake easy to access and understand by the rest of your team.
Connecting ThoughtSpot to your Snowflake account is really easy. You just need to go to ThoughtSpot and create a new connection using your Snowflake credentials. Then you will be able to select which tables you want to make available for the rest of your team. ThoughtSpot is really good at understanding the schema of each table and also the data and values involved.
That’s how they power the magic of their search bar. They even understand foreign keys to enable easy joining between your tables. So make sure to add foreign keys to your data modeling. One more thing. If you want to replicate this demo, you don’t even need to load this data into Snowflake. It’s already there.
This because ThoughtSpot is sharing this data in the Snowflake Data Marketplace, and you can get access to it immediately. This data is live, this data changes every week. No problem: that’s the power of The Data Cloud. Now it’s your turn. Go find this data in the Snowflake Data Marketplace and go win your Fantasy Football league.
